Here's how Tavex Gold Envelopes® work

01. Order a free Gold Envelope® from Tavex.

Order from our website or call customer service +46 8 678 20 30.

If you are order before noon 17.00 we will send your envelope the same day, and it will usually arrive the next working day.

You are not obliged to sell your gold by ordering the Gold Envelope.

02. Receiving an insured parcel

Follow the instructions to ensure that your Gold Envelope is insured. The insurance covers a value of up to SEK 100 000 for each Gold Envelope.

If the value is higher, please let us know and we will send several return envelopes to ensure that everything is fully insured.

03. Send us your gold with the Tavex Gold Envelope®

Put the gold in the security bag and seal the bag. Send the gold and the contract in the prepaid return envelope and hand it in at the nearest PostNord service point. You can find service points here.

Make sure you get a receipt for the return envelope.

04. The value of gold is accurately assessed

Once we have received the gold , our experts will calculate the value of your gold.

05. Payment within 24 hours

We will contact you by phone with our price proposal .

Once you have agreed on the price, you will receive the money in your account within 24 hours.

Safety bag

A tamper-proof security bag to ship your gold in. The bag is sealed by removing the silver-colored strip that protects the blue tape that seals the bag.

Contract

Write a contract describing the gold you want to sell to us. With this signed contract, you authorize Tavex to buy your gold.

Return envelope

A prepaid return envelope that you will use to send the gold and the contract to Tavex. The return envelope is left at one of PostNord’s service points.

The return delivery for Tavex Gold Envelopes is valid for two months. If the delivery is no longer valid, you can ask us for a new shipping document or order a new Gold Envelope.

Yes, your gold will not be sent by regular mail but by PostNord registered mail. Please do not put your gold in a regular mailbox. Instead, leave the return envelope at the nearest post office. When you do this, you will receive a receipt from the post office, which you must keep for insurance purposes. When the Gold envelope arrives, an authorized Tavex employee must sign for the envelope in order to receive it. All this is done to make the process as secure as possible. Yes, Tavex has four stores located in Stockholm. You are welcome to come to our offices to sell your gold in a safe, discreet and professional way at good prices. If you come to our store, you have the option to get paid in cash directly, as soon as we have valued your gold. You can also have the money transferred to your bank account within 24 hours. How long does it take to receive the money after I send my gold?

We pay out the money as soon as we have valued the gold delivered to us via Gold Envelope and received the correct bank account number from you. We will transfer the money by express bank transfer within 24 hours of valuing the gold and agreeing the price with you.

The gold you send to us via Gold Envelope is weighed using well-calibrated and sensitive scales to provide an accurate weight of the gold. Our highly trained and experienced gold experts then value your gold by determining its purity using acid tests.

If you choose not to sell the gold to us, it will be returned to you. You should contact us as soon as possible as by signing the contract you authorize us to carry out tests that may damage your gold. We charge a postage fee of SEK 199 to cover our postage and insurance costs when we send these products back to you. Beyond this, there are no additional charges.

When you send your gold with us, it is sent via Postnord’s Rek letter. Your gold is automatically insured up to a value of 100 000 SEK. Tavex has partnered with Länsförsäkringar to provide additional insurance (unfortunately, most other gold dealers only offer insurance coverage of SEK 10,000)

PostNord’s REK service is one of the safest ways to send goods and Tavex covers the shipping costs. When you choose Tavex Gold Envelopes, insurance is included at no extra cost to you. In the very unlikely event that your Tavex Gold Envelope is lost, we will reimburse you for your loss (in cooperation with our insurer: Länsförsäkringar) if the following conditions are met:

If the Tavex Gold Envelope is lost, the Policyholder can receive compensation if an original receipt from Postnord can be presented. The compensation is based on the weight registered by Postnord on the receipt at the time of submission, less the weight of the Gold Envelope. Policyholders’ compensation is based on the weight and the current price of 18 carat gold*, unless otherwise stated in the documents submitted. A valid gold agreement is a prerequisite for the payment of the insurance compensation.

All gold products we buy are documented and stored in a safe and secure way. Tavex works closely with the police, so that the police can go through the gold items to look for stolen goods. This close cooperation with the police makes Tavex Gold Envelopes one of the least successful for thieves.

No, we do not buy silver jewelry at this time. However, if you have a large amount of silver jewelry, please contact us on 08 678 20 30.

You can send in items that have stones or pearls. However, we do not value these and you will not be paid for them, as they rarely have a resale value.

If you want to keep the stones/pearls, we recommend that you remove them before sending in your goods. The price of the gold we pay will not be reduced if the item is damaged in the process.
